There’s always time to send healing thoughts and mine are winging their way to Chelsea right now…weren’t you both supposed to be heading to Texas today??

I’m glad she finally knows what the problem was and won’t have to worry about it any more.

  2. Comment by Linda:

I’m glad your daughter’s surgery went well. I actually used to live near Deming in a town called Silver City. Haven’t been back in years.

    Beautiful!

A bittersweet day for any mother Martie. Chelsea’s appartment looks great and she looks very proud of her very own space. You guys did great!

    Have a good trip home.

This looks like something I’d like to crawl into right now! Very inviting.

  6. Comment by Judy:

    I am not sharing this with Courtney! She will be jealous. It looks like Chelsea is thrilled to have such a nice place. Nice for the both of you :}

  7. Comment by Chelsea:

    Fantatic photograph mom!

  8. Comment by Kate I:

PERFECT! Thank you so much Martie for both your kind words and the photograph posted in my honour! I love the way everything is black and white except for the word in red…is there an “app” for that?

(ps…you inspire me too dear friend)

  9. Comment by Linda:

Gosh, that’s nicer than anything I had in college. Those dorm rooms were something else.

Don’t I-Phones take great photos these days. I love the expression you used about your daughter’s lovely apartment – “her slice of heaven”. Just what a home should be.

Ah yes, balence…why does it so often feel like we’re walking a tightrope in life? I posted this link on my blog a year or two ago but I often go back to it and am always inspired. I think it’s the combination of balence and perserverence that speaks to me here…never stop seeking balence.

I love this pic– he looks like he had such a good time out with you. (And probably loved showing off for you!!)

  14. Comment by Steph:

It is very beautiful! Have you decided where to hang it?

  15. Comment by Patti:

I’d love to do this too! Love your colours and patterns Martie! It’s great that you have decided to learn something new – good for the brain cells, even if you do make some mistakes!

  16. Comment by Linda:

I love the colors. I’ve never tried quilting-and probably never will.

  17. Comment by Chelsea:

I’m so jealous! I wish I could of finished mine. You did a fantastic job!

  18. Comment by Chelsea:

What a fun day! And he does love his posing! I love how you can also see Lily a bit in the background!

  19. Comment by Patti:

I think afternoon naps should be compulsory Martie – I’m sure the world would be a better place if we all re-charged more often!

Too bad about your Air Con. I hope they get back to you soon. Stay cool!

Love your bizarre horse riding, juice drinking man!

Now that looks like a watercolor painting…. love that sky.

  21. Comment by Angela:

    Great sky!!

My mom’s name is Martie. Just thought that was pretty cool. She’s the only person I know who spells it Martie. Well, I guess now I kind of “know” two. :-)

  22. Comment by Linda:

Serious looking sky there. It’s just blue here and has been for a long time.

  23. Comment by Patti:

I think the pattern is a lot of fun! Well chosen!

  24. Comment by Wichi Dude:

Fantastic fabric. So properly inappropriate in todays society…love it. And the minute I saw the post title, Queen was the first thing I thought of as well. Love their music. Can’t wait to see the finished tote.

  25. Comment by Angela:

I love this fabric!! It’s just too cute!

  26. Comment by Steph:

I certainly had a great time!!

    Awesome.

I first read that as you visiting the local “quitters” guild. Put a whole new spin on it!
