Happy Post-Thanksgiving

Happy Day-After Thanksgiving!  I hope you all had a wonderful turkey day!  I went to my sister’s north of Dallas for the celebration.  My parents went as well, and both of my nephews came home too.  So what a good time we had.

But today I’m back home, and you know what?  No matter how grand of a time I have anywhere, there really is no place like home and I am so happy to be here.  And the kitties were happy to see me.  Next Friday my daughter and her family from California come for a long visit (nearly 3 weeks!) and I can hardly wait.  I’ll be busy over these next few days doing some projects to get the house ready.

And I have projects on the agenda when the kids are here so I can have some help.

It seems that there just isn’t much time any more.  October my mom and I went to see the Dalai Lama in Atlanta (and met up with my eldest daughter, grandson and son-in-law).  Then it was to San Antonio to celebrate my youngest daughter’s 23rd birthday.  The second week of November I was on a cruise to the Caribbean, and as you already know – just returned from Thanksgiving in Texas!

I hope all of you are well and happy!  Take care.

The Dalai Lama

Do you have a “bucket” list?  You know, places you want to visit or things you want to do before you die?  Well, I don’t have a formal bucket list but there are many things I really want to do before I go.  One of the things that I want to do, and it is never on my bucket list because I simply didn’t believe it was even possible is to see the Dalai Lama.

But guess what.  I am going to see him!  I can’t believe it.  He’s going to the Gwinnet Arena in Georgia!  My eldest daughter and son-in-law are going and one thing lead to another so now my Mom and I are going too.

It’s October 8 and I simply cannot wait.  Truly a once-in-a-lifetime event for me.

Celebrate Summer Solstice!

This is my very favorite day of the year – the one where there is the MOST daylight! I love, love, love the sun. I hope this day brings joy to your soul!

Jump for joy!

Do yoga…

Sail away…

Visit a scared site..

Today I am going to do yoga to celebrate.  Once of these years I want to be at Stonehenge to welcome the day!

Home again!

It’s always good to come home.  To reclaim my space and my life.  To see my cats, my garden, my “things”.  While I love to go, I love even more to come home.  I think that is good – if I wasn’t so good to come home then it would be time to move on.

The cruise was wonderful.  It was warm, the scenery fantastic.  But the best part was being with my part of my family.  Mom & Dad enjoyed their first cruise.  My sister and brother-in-law celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary.  And for the first time in years and years, my eldest daughter and I had “alone” time.  7 days of love!

Came home to cold though.  Every morning I’ve awakened to frost!  After sever days in the 90s to say this weather is a shock to the system is a huge understatement.  But warm weather is on the way and soon I’ll be able to plant my garden.

Next week I’ll be selling my soap and body products at the Air Force Base near my home.  So this week I’m getting everything ready.  Yesterday I spent packaging the soap and today making body butter.  More body butter tomorrow, bath bombs and fizzies on Friday.  Weekend resting!

We are sailing….

Actually we will be tomorrow – on a cruise to the Caribbean.  7 days of stress free living.  It’s a family thing, my Mom & Dad (their first cruise), one of my sisters, my brother-in-law and my eldest daughter are all going.  We’ve been looking forward to this for several months.  Tonight we are in Houston near the airport where my daughter will fly in tomorrow and join us.  Then a short drive to Galveston to Princess Cruise Lines.

And where are we heading to?  The Island of Roatan, Honduras; Belize City, Belize and finally the Island of Cozumel, Mexico.

Although strictly speaking I won’t be sailing, here’s my favorite sailing song for the occasion! (A very young Rod Stewart!!)
